Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office's redesigned site now offers a "One-stop" service
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Toronto - September 27, 2001
Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Canada) launched its totally revamped official website today with a live demonstration of its unique interactive features.
The completely redesigned site produced by web developer Blue Cat Design contains many custom online tools which make it possible for HKETO staff to instantly post breaking news and content without any knowledge of HTML web programming methods.
"We created a suite of online publishing tools for HKETO as part of our mandate to create a site that was extremely user-friendly not only for site visitors but also for HKETO staff to maintain," said Christine Collie Rowland, CEO of Blue Cat Design Inc. "Our custom software is so intuitive that HKETO staff didn't require any special training to use it beyond the on screen prompts."
"It was a pleasure working with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office to build a new official site from the ground up; they already had experience with an extensive site and knew what improvements they wanted in their new site," said Rowland. "They were so focused it made our job much easier."
"Our new website is created to offer a 'One-stop' service to Canadian businesses that intend to gather practical information on setting up an operation in Hong Kong. It serves as a "gateway to Hong Kong" for Canadian business," said Mrs Rosanna Ure, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office.
"To better serve our Canadian business partners, we have adopted an easy 'DIY' approach to provide them with general information on business and investment opportunities in Hong Kong, as well as a step-by-step practical manual in setting up their business," Mrs Ure added.
